Press Release 11th June 2010
When the going gets tough……
As the West prepare for the cuts in the forthcoming budget, a Bristol business growth specialist has warned companies they need to focus on building longer lasting relationships with customers if they are all to survive.
Theresa ‘T’ Bramwell, from Blaze Ahead, will be telling businessmen and women attending the Best of Bristol Business Exhibition at Ashton Gate that they need to find new ways of generating sales.
T will be running an hour long seminar at the exhibition to show how to communicate better and improve sales relationships.
“Make no mistake, we are in for a rough ride and only the tough will get through it. That’s why businesses have to up their game and transform the way they sell. At the seminar they’ll be able to find out what they should stop doing, what they should start doing and continue to do.”
More than a thousand business owners are expected to attend the Best of Bristol Business Exhibition on Tuesday, 22 June, and the event has already been a sell out with more than 150 exhibitors.
In addition, there will be a live lunchtime business TV programme to discuss topical issues and the possible effects of George Osborne’s budget, while early bird clinics are being run by selected specialist advisors for businessmen and women with specific issues or challenges.
The exhibition will close with a corporate wine tasting in aid of charity.

A New Culture
A marketing company specialising in helping businesses build market awareness and attract new customers is launching a new approach to brand management – plus a new image of its own!
Culturebank, which is based at Almondsbury, will go public with its new name and approach for the first time at the Best of Bristol Business Show at Ashton Gate Stadium on 22 June.
The consultancy, which formerly operated as Seed Brand, is headed up by creative director Nick Meads and has already secured an impressive client list, including TGI Fridays, St Austell Brewery and most recently, Fitness First.
Nick Mead says Culturebank focuses on activating brands through its people. “No matter how large a business might be, its people are its most important element and can greatly impact on its success in the market place. We harness HR and brand expertise to deliver real results.”
Culturebank has successfully created a branding, recruitment and employee blog website for the people at TGI Friday’s to tell their stories and create an honest reflection of the culture and brand. Fitness First recently approached the consultancy to improve staff retention and recruitment by harnessing the energy and passion of employees to engage existing and attract the very best new staff.
Culturbank is one of 150 businesses due to exhibit at the exhibition – among the others is consultant cardiologist Dr. Lance Forbat, from Bristol, who is promoting his Doc@Home service.
The service enables heart patients with chronic conditions such as heart failure to be managed out of hospital, improving their quality of life. It is also useful in patients discharged from hospital after heart surgery. Patients are monitored regularly through a small hand held hub, into which data may be entered and transmitted via the telephone line to the doctor. Using this method, blood pressure, saturated oxygen, heart rate and weight can be checked daily – it can even perform an ECG.
Dr Forbat says the system could save the NHS millions by relieving the pressure on beds whilst providing
patients with support and care.
The Best of Bristol Business Exhibition, which is being sponsored by the coaching specialists Blaze Ahead, runs from 10.30am to 3.30pm on 22 June.
Businessmen or women with issues or challenges are also being offered free advice on the day at a series of early-bird clinics from specialists in the areas of HT, IT, finance, debt management, PR and sales. For more details visit www.businessxtra.biz
